Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) has become a successful alternative material for two-piece hard capsules, overcoming the traditional ‘gelatin’ animal source from cattle bones or hide and being suitable for vegetarians.
HPMC (CAS No. 9004-65-3) is an odourless, tasteless and white to slightly off-white, fibrous or granular, free-flowing powder that is a synthetic modification of the natural polymer, cellulose, originating from wood pulp (plant).
We exclusively source and supply high-quality capsules produced at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with, amongst others, BRC, ISO, Halal and Kosher accreditations. Our partner has almost 20 years of experience working with 2-piece capsule technologies, so we’re confident our capsules will run on your machines. Please ask us for a sample carton to trial.
We stock clear capsules in sizes #1, #0, and #00 and regularly order other sizes (#3 and #4, for example). We have low minimum order quantities, from a single carton upwards, and a fast delivery service from our own UK facility.
We can also offer coloured capsules and a printing service for your logo or name.
